1979- Started taekwondo under Grandmasters Yeo Jun Kim and Sang Min Cho ( Pioneer of Taekwondo in Brazil) at Academia Liberdade( 1st taekwondo School in Brazil)1984-1990- Winner of most tournaments in Sao Paulo-Brazil
1987- Brazilian Team Member at the Korean National Games
1990- Moved to New York to attend New Yprk University
1993- Brazilian National Team Manager at the World Taekwondo Championships- Madison Square Garden
1995-2021- Co-owner of 4 Martial Arts schools in Colorado (Taekwondo and Brazilian Jiujitsu)
1995-2021- J.W.Kim Taekwondo became on of the biggest Taekwondo operations in the state of Colorado serving several hundred active students
1998- Master J.W.Kim Day-Declared by Mayor Wellington Web( City and County of Denver)
2011- Npminated Kukkiwon Advisory Committee
2019- 8th Degree Black Belt Kukkiwon

About The Black Belt Foundation: – A 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization founded to use Taekwondo to aid in bringing students in the state of Alagoas – Brazil out of poverty. The Black Belt Foundation currently serves eighteed different locations providing aide, instruction, training supplies (uniforms, pads, targets, etc.), mats, and shelter to train in and learn Taekwondo. Currently over 70% of all Taekwondo practitioners in state of Alagoas are Black Belt Foundation students. The Black Belt Foundation is the largest privately funded charity Taekwondo organization in Brazil with several hundred students are being served by the foundation. After inception of the Black Belt Foundation, several students are top nationally ranked as we provide high performance training and help to fund the athletes’ travel.
