This was the gold medal won by USA National Team Member Marcia Hall, now Dr. Marcia Hall at the 1979 Taiwan International Championships held in Taipei, Taiwan. Dr. Marcia Hall holds the distinction of being the first USA athlete to win gold in 2 consecutive international events. During the previous year she won gold at the 1st Pre-World Taekwondo Championships held in Seoul, Korea.
