This traditional Mexican sombrero was personally presented to Moo Duk Kwan Founder Grandmaster HWANG KEE by Grandmaster Sergio Chavez in 1995, commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Moo Duk Kwan (1945–1995).Grandmaster Sergio Chavez is recognized as one of the most senior and respected proponents of Moo Duk Kwan originally from Mexico. He holds the historic distinction of being the first individual in Mexico to be awarded 9th Dan certification by Kukkiwon.
In 2002, Grandmaster Chavez received Taekwondo’s highest honors when he was formally inducted into the Official Taekwondo Hall of Fame®. .This rare and prestigious artifact is preserved and presented by the United States Taekwondo Museum®. as part of its mission to document, safeguard, and showcase the global heritage of Taekwondo as a dedicated historical institution.
