In 2014 the United States had full diplomatic relations with I.R. Iran. In that same year the Official Taekwondo Hall of Fame held its ceremony in the headquarters of the I.R. Taekwondo Federation located in Tehran, Iran.
Several of Iran’s greatest players include the team which bested Korea to win the 2011 Taekwondo Championship held in Jenu Island, South Korea. The ceremony was an historic ground breaking event because it was the first time in history that any western based organization held such a ceremony in South Asia.
This historic relic shown here was donated to the United States Taekwondo Museum in 2014 by the I.R. Iran Taekwondo Federation It is an exact replica of the “Nations Gate” constructed during the Achaemenian Period (500 years before Christ / 500 BC
