This is an actual commemorative postage stamp issued by Austrian Post Office as indicated by the marking “Post at”. The stamp itself features a dynamic illustration of two Taekwondo practitioners in action, one being Grand Master Jae Hwa Kwon kicking, one of the original pioneers of Tae Kwon-Do. It celebrates GM Jae Hwa Kwon’s Taekwon-do celebrating ’40 Jahre in Europa’ (40 Years in Europe) In the early 1970s, he led Austria’s largest Taekwon-Do organization.After immigrating to the United States, he organized an international tournament in Florida and became widely known for his spectacular one-step techniques and “real” rock-breaking demonstrations. This stamp is believed to be the first, and to date, the only stamp in the world adorned with his actual signature.
