This is the actual blue colored top worn by GM SKIPPER WILLIAMS during his competitive years. He dominated the competition in Georgia and throughout the Southeast U.S. during the early years of competition and states that the blue top was worn by all Blackbelt competitors from his school. He competed against the some of the best fighters of his era including the legendary late GM JOSEPH HAYES for whom he expressed the greatest admiration. During the early years the major martial arts magazines focused mainly on events and competitors on the East & West Coasts as well as the Midwestern states. As a result, with the exception of a few of the numerous tournaments he won there was little mention of this great champion. In 2022 Skipper Williams received the highest honor in Taekwondo upon being inducted into the OFFICIAL TAEKWONDO HALL OF FAME®️
