Plate Awarded To GM C.K. Choi, Member of the Official Taekwondo Hall of Fame®

On April 6, 2007, Grand Master C.K. Choi who became the first I.T.F. heavyweight World Champion in 1974 received Taekwondo’s highest honor when he was inducted into the Official Taekwondo Hall of Fame®.That induction brought major international recognition to Grand Master Choi’s historic achievements, and the global exposure generated by the Official Taekwondo Hall of Fame® directly helped lead to the prestigious honors that followed.In 2008, in recognition of his legacy and elevated international profile, the Taekwondo Association of Great Britain (T.A.G.B.) presented him with this remarkable commemorative plate.

Shortly thereafter, the Official Taekwondo Hall of Fame® also received contact regarding Grand Master Choi being considered for the Order of Canada, the highest civilian honor in Canada. Following our recommendation along with the recommendations of others—Grand Master Choi was awarded this coveted national distinction.
