This trophy was won by the Republic of Iran National Taekwondo Team at the 2011 World Taekwondo Championships held on Jeju Island, South Korea. It marked the first and only time since the inception of World Taekwondo Championships that the host nation, Korea, was defeated.In 2014, during a period of limited diplomatic relations between the United States and Iran, the Official Taekwondo Hall of Fame® was permitted to host its 5th Official Induction Ceremony in Tehran, Iran.
